Photoshop

This is Photoshop CS5 the extended version this is the fastest most advance version of Photoshop there is at the moment. We started out by using a blank canvas that we painted black, we then started to add the images that where brought together by the whole image, the poster consists of 11 layers these consist of the black background, clouds, little people and block colours to complete the top of the tree.

This whole process took longer than expected due to the lack of ideas flowing at the time, I am now fluent in another programme which is also good. Photoshop is an interesting clever programme that can be used to manipulate images and create things such as this poster.

Final Poster Design

Since the last poster upload I did not much has changed apart from the top of our tree is now blocks of colour; greys and browns to be precise and we have added a blue sky with pink clouds which contrasts nicely with the black below the tree symbolising that everything is better up above the tree. The poster is now the most indie and alternative that I feel it can be.

Directors Commentary - Task 4

RUN

Good  and considerate understanding of the technologies used in production of the video, for example in terms of the types of camera’s used and the quality available.

There are evident links between creative decision making and use of technology on both productions of the video using professional digital cameras and in the post production editing process – in discussion of match of action, lip syncing and graphic matching’.  This is sustained and thorough and accurate in discussion of the branded themes of creativity, authenticity and ‘hippie’ theme of the video

The commentary shows a discrete awareness of the use of new media technology and uses discriminating examples really well for example in FCP: particularly to selection and construction of narrative, editing techniques, such as cross cutting and the pacing used.   This knowledge and understanding is evident in the use of colour saturation and adjustments.

Commentary attempts to evaluate online technologies, the use of creativity which the digital technologies enabled.

Excellent command of terminology and well presented.  There is sustained justified decision making links between the technologies used the product and audience reception in terms of the creativity that the group used..

Poster

Here is our poster for the band Cape Karoo this is part of our media coursework and this goes hand in hand with the music video and digipak to create a full media package. Again we went with the indie look, we did not use an image of the band and the only conventional element of this poster is the tour dates and the record label logo.
